Biography
In 1929, a man named Andrew Thurston was included on Lou Hoover’s annual staff Christmas list among horticulture employees supervised by Head Gardener Charles Henlock.1 City directories from the period suggest he was a laborer with the Office of Public Buildings and Parks, but further information about his life, career, and tenure at the White House is limited.2
