Biography

The only known mention of B. E. McKenner in relation to the White House comes from a Washington Herald newspaper article detailing funeral arrangements for White House Maid Katherine Wynne. When Katherine died in 1928, McKenner served as a pallbearer alongside other White House employees including Thomas Scanlon, Joseph A. Sheehan, William Shields, and Edward A. Norris.1


Further information about McKenner’s life remains unknown. It is possible this newspaper article misidentified him with longtime White House Doorkeeper Patrick E. McKenna due to the similarity between names.
