Biography
Floyd Douglas Hogan was born on September 12, 1938, in North Carolina.1 He later relocated to Washington, D.C., although at this time, little is known about his life during this period. From approximately 1971-1974, he worked as a grounds laborer at the White House, helping to maintain the gardens and grounds onsite. Most grounds laborers were employees of the National Park Service, so it is likely that Hogan was too.2 He passed away on June 4, 1987, and was buried at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro, North Carolina.3
